Redesign, searchengine optimization and CMS update of a pharmaceutical website providing information and support related to brain tumors.
The initial goal was to optimize the old website for search engines; Google did not provide desired results, as the old site still used tables for layout purposes. After some consideration, the task of redesigning the whole website was added to the job.
As for the redesign process, I decided to go for a modern, discreet and open page design, as well as a new structure for the site’s navigation.
After finalizing the redesign, I coded the markup compliant to current webstandards and accessibility guidelines. Of course I did this without using tables, and thus assured improved searchengine accessibility as well.
Joomla 1.5 was used as the underlying CMS, but I also integrated some custom-made components.
The content of the site was revised by Edith Weindlmayr-Mut.
